Jaxon Jeremy

In 11 days my baby boy will be turning...5 months.  I know this isn't the most significant mile stone but time is going by so fast that I thought I would take a moment and reflect. Here's the latest snap shot of him so you can have a mental image of the preciousness I'll be talking about:

Irresistible right? So now that you know what his pretty face looks like..here are a few things about J.J.:
4 1/2 months
17 lbs
25 inches
Very ticklish
Smiles any chance he gets
Laughs when you unchanged his clothes
Lights up the whole room...when his daddy walks in (jealous mom? yes.)
Smiles after he sneezes...which usually come in 3s and 4s
Master at grabbing objects...like his mamas hair
Extremely easy-going
Loves to cuddle

Like I've said before, the love you can have for your child is overwhelming. Obviously I never quite understood what mothers meant when they would say things like that before I had him.

If I could go back in time where it was just me and Jeremy...I wouldn't.

Sometimes, like yesterday, when I look at him sleeping while I'm pushing the grocery cart down the diaper isle I start to cry. Why? Because I'm just that in-love with my son.

We love you Widda J!

The Baby Story

I know...2 posts in one day? I'm in Manila...my husband is ice fishing, the babe is asleep, and I'm actually not tired. Just really bored :) So I thought I would share with you how everything went down..and out ;)

I was induced on the day of my 38 week appointment because long story short my blood work came back positive as to where I could actually receive an epidural.  So Jer and I were completely in shock that we were going to be parents..that day!

This is a picture before the contractions came and before getting my epidural that ended up not completely working. Thats right folks...not working. Ugh. Little J's umbilical chord was wrapped around his neck twice so they had to get him out fast. They snipped me and vacuumed him out and we still came out with a perfectly shaped head and most importantly a healthy healthy body!

Oh yeah..Jeremy did not pass out! He was a great supporter! We are so so happy as parents! I would never want to go back to the days where Jaxon wasn't here! He's really an easy baby and all the nerves of being a mom calmed down the instant he arrived.  If only husbands could lactate parenting would be even better :)  Here are a few more pics of J.J.(we don't really know what we're going to call him yet) from the photo shoot that I didn't put on facebook:

Knock ya Naked!

brownies.jpg

You've gotta make these brownies...NOW! Jeremy's little sister Emily made them the other night and I fell in love! I asked where she got the recipe and of course it was from my favorite blogger slash cooking goddess Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman.  Another great thing about these brownies are what they go by...Knock Ya Naked Brownies!

I don't post about little things that happen or thoughts or something that I really like...usually it's just an update of the past few months since I am horrible at blogging. But that's just how good these are! Speaking about being horrible at blogging..my background and page set up is under construction. Don't judge :) ANYWAY...go to her sight, get the recipe, and start baking! Ready...GO! Here's the link: Knock Ya Naked Brownies!

Tis The Season

Here's just a little recap of the latest:

Brett got married November 26th to the cutest girl ever! Look how happy they are! Our family is so excited for these two and feel so grateful to see our Brettsky happy again! We wish them the best!

Jer and I have been living back and forth between parents until he finds a job. He's had a few interviews lately in Vernal so now it's just the waiting game. Our last trip out to Manila we fished and read Hunger Games all day long. Right now we're living the life that we know we'll never have again...just soakin it all in :)

This is Duke....the beloved dog of the Catron family.  He does no wrong.  He thinks he is a human. It's great.  When we take him fishing he also enjoys to do a little fishing himself. He knows when Jer is about to unhook the fish so he gets on the other side where he knows they will swim off and gets in a defensive position to catch them in his mouth.  No worries, he lets them go unharmed after feeling the satisfaction of being able to catch one.  Him and Jer are the bestest friends in the whole wide world.

Well if we haven't seen each other recently this is what I've been looking like as of late. Things are going great and hopefully we'll be having a little one soon! Right now I'm dilated to a 2, 70% effaced, and dealing with contractions here and there. I think I'm a little further along then what we had planned so hopefully we can see our little boy soon! We'll keep you informed!

Last but not least....I graduated!!!! Woohoo!!! Jer and I are now both Aggie Alumni and it couldn't feel better! I did this last semester all online and everything went pretty smooth.  I am so relieved to be done and not have to worry about finishing while being a mother!  When I walk in the Spring I'll have a little 5 month old boy cheerin his mama on from the crowd!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Love, The K-Trins

Recap of our Summer

Well I promised that I would post soon, so I'm keeping my promise..for the 6 of you that follow me ha.
Naturally a lot has happened since the elk hunt..a lot! Jeremy finished up school in December with his degree in Outdoor Recreation Resource Management and I couldn't be more proud.  He started work in May for the Forest Service fighting fires and was gone for the beginning half of the summer fighting in Texas

I was only 6 weeks in this picture but in April we found out that I was pregnant and were a little shocked but more excited to start the next part of our lives! I just finished a summer semester and have only one more semester to go! Hopefully our little guy will wait for me to finish up finals before he comes!

We just got back from our river trip on the Gates of Ladore.  I'm not sure how to descibe the location...below flaming gorge and next to Vernal? Wherever it was it was BEAUTIFUL! We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights, and just camped along the banks each night at some awesome campsites.  Here are some pics for y'all.....

Big Horn Sheep: These aren't them but during the trip I was walking around the mountain with my 4 year old nephew because we had to sit a dangerous rapid out..as we were making our treck back to the group we came acros a heard of big huge ginormous Rams...the ones on the dodge truck logo....yeah they're huge! And they're even bigger 20 feet away! All I could think about was the National Geographic shows of these guys charging each other as they bump heads...luckily that didn't happen to us and they kindly ran away after 10 minutes of waiting and starring me down.

Fortunately/Unfortunately however you want to look at it, we celebrated our 2 year anniversary on the river! So so much has happened in our lives during these last two years: marriage, me going back to school, living in Alaska, Jer graduating from college, me nearing the end of my college career and the craziest of all getting pregnant and facing parenthood in 4 months! I couldn't have asked for a better husband to have in my life and I'm so grateful for all the hard work that he does to keep our family going and happy.  I love him and the two years that we've experienced together! It's been quite the journey with still a lot ahead of us to come!
